Yuhang Wen is an well-accomplished Kunqu performer with national and international reputation. He studied at the Beijing Traditional Opera School for six years with some of the most famous actors and teachers, specializing the young male roles. Since graduating, he has been the principal actor in the Northern Kunju Opera Company. Mr. Wen was the featured principal in more than 20 productions, performing throughout China, Japan, Russia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He was awarded Best Performer at the National Youth Kunju Opera competition in 1994, and took home three awards in 1988, 1993 and 1998. In 1999, Mr. Wen was honored as one of the most promising artists for the 21st century in Beijing.

Since 1999, he has played the lead young male role in Lincoln Center's presentation of The Peony Pavilion in New York, Paris, Milan, Sydney, Copenhagen, Berlin and Vienna.
